Network Flows Under Thermal Restrictions
We define a thermal network, which is a network where the flow functionality of a node depends upon its temperature. This model is inspired by several types of real-life networks, and generalizes some conventional network models wherein nodes have fixed capacities and the problem is to maximize the flow through the network. In a thermal network, the temperature of a node increases as traffic mo...
متن کاملLuminous hot accretion flows: thermal equilibrium curve and thermal stability
In a previous paper, we presented the global solution of a new accretion flow model, namely luminous hot accretion flows (LHAFs). In this Letter, we first show the corresponding thermal equilibrium curve of LHAFs in the mass accretion rate vs. surface density diagram. Then we examine its thermal stability again local perturbations. We find that LHAFs are thermally unstable when thermal conducti...
متن کاملNon-perturbative thermal flows and resummations
We construct a functional renormalisation group for thermal fluctuations. Thermal resummations are naturally built in, and the infrared problem of thermal fluctuations is well under control. The viability of the approach is exemplified for thermal scalar field theories. In gauge theories the present setting allows for the construction of a gauge-invariant thermal renormalisation group.
متن کاملMagnetohydrodynamic Free Convection Flows with Thermal Memory over a Moving Vertical Plate in Porous Medium
The unsteady hydro-magnetic free convection flow with heat transfer of a linearly viscous, incompressible, electrically conducting fluid near a moving vertical plate with the constant heat is investigated. The flow domain is the porous half-space and a magnetic field of a variable direction is applied. The Caputo time-fractional derivative is employed in order to introduce a thermal flux consti...
متن کاملHybrid Thermal-Nonthermal Synchrotron Emission from Hot Accretion Flows
We investigate the effect of a hybrid electron population, consisting of both thermal and non-thermal particles, on the synchrotron spectrum, image size, and image shape of a hot accretion flow onto a supermassive black hole. We find two universal features in the emitted synchrotron spectrum: (i) a prominent shoulder at low (∼< 10 11 Hz) frequencies that is weakly dependent on the shape of the ...
